Cabochon Definition:

A Flat bottomed cut stone usually oval or round and measured in millimeters and are calibrated ( cut to a specific length and with to conform with the jewelry industry) , a few stones i.e.: Turquoise are usually cut free form. Click on Cabochon to view a page listing cut stones.

FACETED:

Stones Machine cut, clear or translucent minerals. These minerals are usually semi precious high quality but need not be. These stones are easily identified by the many flat cuts or facets on the top and bottom of the stone. click on FACETED/PRECIOUS TO VIEW THE PAGE ON FACETED STONES.
